Do you need a permit?
The best part? Thankfully, don’t need a permit to elope or host a small wedding with fewer than 50 guests in Jasper National Park. You’ll just need to follow a few simple guidelines to help protect and respect this beautiful land.
Here’s the guidelines:
-
There must be compliance with National Park regulations at all times.
-
To ensure the best possible experience—and to minimize your impact on the environment—it’s recommended to keep your ceremony guest list to 25 people or fewer.
-
At no time does an event have exclusive rights to an area. The function must not displace regular visitors’ enjoyment of the park and its facilities. Day-use areas should only be used for the ceremony. Extended stays or receptions are not appropriate.
-
Participants and guests require a valid National Parks Pass.
-
There must not be any significant impact on the park’s natural and cultural resources. Do not pick the flowers, please stay on pathways and do not set up shelters or chairs in the area. You’re welcome to bring a few folding chairs for elderly guests or anyone who needs a little extra support.
-
The event must comply with the Gaming and Liquor Control Act of Alberta. Just a heads-up—liquor isn’t allowed in public areas, so it’s best to save the celebrating for later!
-
Make sure the site is fully cleaned up as soon as your event wraps up. Organizers accept full responsibility for any incidents, and/or costs of clean up or site rehabilitation resulting from the event. Please help protect the park by not throwing or scattering anything—this includes confetti, rice, flower petals, and releasing butterflies or balloons
-
Decorated cars are discouraged because decorations blow off and litter our roadways.
-
Just so you know—day-use areas close at dusk, so be sure to wrap up your celebration before the sun goes down!
-
The person responsible for the event will attempt to keep vehicular traffic to a minimum. Car pooling or group transportation is preferable.
-
To keep things peaceful and protect the environment therefore gas-powered generators aren’t allowed—thanks for understanding!
-
To keep the peace and respect the natural surroundings, please avoid loud music, horn honking, P.A. systems, or any excessive noise.

Hidden Gem Locations
You’ll discover countless hidden gems in Jasper National Park—perfect spots to say ‘I do. There’s truly no better way to uncover Jasper’s most breathtaking spots than by having me as your photographer and guide. From the very beginning, I work closely with each couple to find the perfect place to exchange their vows—whether that’s a tucked-away hidden gem deep in the mountains or a more traditional venue with a view. In other words, we’ll make it unforgettable.
For those craving something a little more private and off-the-beaten-path, we can explore locations that offer total seclusion, depending on the time and season. Since I know this area like the back of my hand, I’ve built a solid list of stunning spots that could be the one for you. I’d be so honoured to help you find it.
